Deputy Mayor
Robert Alphaeus Browne is the Deputy District Council Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council, a District with over 620,000 inhabitants. He became a Councillor on 7th March 2018 through Sierra Leone’s national local council elections and was later voted for through an internal election by elected councilors and won with over 90% of the votes cast by Councillors for the
Deputy District Council Chairman. Robert Alphaeus Browne, who later ran with the Chairman as running mate, as about the changes of the Local Government Acts of 2004, repealed now 2022, and won on the same ticket after the 2023 Local Councils Elections. Deputy District Council Chairman Browne has served as Deputy for about seven years due to his reelection in 2023.
Prior to his coming into national politics, Robert Alphaeus Browne served as Senior Teacher at Goderich Comprehensive Secondary School, later worked with the European Union as Logistics Officer, from where he left and went into the private world and worked with Merani Group of Companies as Finance and Administrative Officer. In 2013,
Robert Browne’s interest in politics started when he left Senior Secondary in 2001. He has a wealth of experience both in the academic and social worlds. He has a

Browne came into active politics in 2017 as a Councillor, with pressure from his constituents as a development-oriented person later became the Deputy Chairman due to his achievements in Local governance in terms of community development and human relations
