The Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council (WARDC), Kasho J. Holland-Cole, has officially resumed duties as the duly elected and certified Chairman of the Council following the return of All People\u2019s Congress (APC) elected officials to governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Holland-Cole\u2019s return comes after weeks of political uncertainty that saw APC elected officials withdraw from Parliament and Local Councils across Sierra Leone in protest over governance concerns, including calls for the full implementation of the Tripartite Committee recommendations and issues surrounding electoral reforms. The boycott was later suspended following the intervention of the International Moral Guarantors, who engaged both the Government of Sierra Leone and the APC in dialogue aimed at restoring confidence in the country\u2019s democratic governance process. Their intervention reportedly led to agreements on key reforms, including commitments toward the implementation of the Tripartite recommendations and the restructuring of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with the APC\u2019s decision to return to governance in good faith, Chairman Holland-Cole made his official return to the Council on Thursday 7th May 2026 and immediately resumed his responsibilities in service to the people of the Western Area Rural District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his arrival at the Council, the Chairman received a heroic and emotional welcome from staff members, market women, party supporters, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate his return. The atmosphere at the Council was filled with excitement as supporters described his comeback as a renewed hope for continued development in the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without delay, Chairman Holland-Cole quickly got back to work by presiding over the 17th Ordinary Council Sitting, where several key development projects and initiatives were approved for the benefit of residents across the Western Area Rural District.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His swift return to duty demonstrates his commitment to service delivery, grassroots development, and the continued transformation of communities within the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
